Carbon Project Manager – Kenya

About the role
The Carbon Project Manager – Kenya is responsible for managing BURN's Article 6.2 bilateral carbon projects throughout their full certification cycles, from inception to field execution, audit management and carbon‑credit issuance. Reporting to the Senior Carbon Project Manager, the role ensures each stage meets required standards and supports compliance across BURN's Article 6.2 portfolio.
Key responsibilities
- Manage programme‑cycle submissions (MADD, MAIN, LONO, FVR and related documents).
- Coordinate Field Verification Reports, organising field access and household logistics.
- Maintain submission trackers and project documentation; flag delays or risks with mitigation proposals.
- Support Carbon Operations PMs in other markets with documentation standards, FVR protocols and tracker maintenance.
- Execute one‑off Article 6.2 assignments as directed by senior management.
- Drive quality assurance across data‑collection stages, working with the MRV Coordinator.
- Oversee distribution quality audits and ensure field teams follow approved protocols.
- Track and monitor project compliance against internal controls and verification standards.
- Manage quarterly monitoring cycles, including surveys, Kitchen Performance Tests and Water Boiling Tests.
Required profile
- Proven project‑management experience, preferably in carbon or climate projects.
- Practical ability to manage Article 6.2 requirements on the ground in Kenya.
- Experience coordinating field logistics and household access.
- Strong risk‑identification and compliance awareness.
- Ability to work closely with technical teams and internal specialists.
Required skills
- Knowledge of Article 6.2 bilateral carbon‑project processes.
- Familiarity with MADD, MAIN, LONO and FVR documentation.
- Experience with MRV (Measurement, Reporting, Verification) coordination.
- Ability to conduct quality audits and monitor compliance.
- Proficiency in maintaining project trackers and documentation.
