Caretaker / Groundskeeper

About the role

The Caretaker/Groundskeeper will maintain the premises, compound and outdoor spaces, ensuring they are clean, secure, safe and well‑maintained. The role supports the Administration function in creating an attractive and functional working environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plant, water, prune and care for a variety of plants, shrubs, trees and flowers.
• Mow, trim and edge lawns and pathways to keep grounds neat.
• Apply fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides as needed.
• Inspect and maintain tools, equipment and machinery, including generator maintenance.
• Perform basic repairs, painting and general maintenance around the property.
• Ensure walkways, driveways and public areas are free from hazards.
• Monitor water usage and implement water‑saving techniques.
• Secure the property by locking gates and reporting suspicious activity.

Required profile

• High School Certificate or equivalent relevant certification.
• A genuine love of the outdoors and plant life.

Required skills

• Knowledge of horticultural practices, plant care and garden design.
• Ability to identify plant species and their specific needs.
• Proficiency with gardening tools and equipment.
• Basic handyman skills including minor repairs and painting.
• Familiarity with irrigation systems and water‑management techniques.
• Experience maintaining generators and other outdoor equipment.
