Job description

About the role

A Kenyan conservation organization, represented by Corporate Staffing, is looking for a Programme Manager for its Conservation Education Program in Nairobi. The role covers strategy, delivery, partnerships and donor relations, and sits on-site. It leads a lean team and builds relationships with partner schools, and reports to the CEO/COO.

Key responsibilities

  • Own the annual programme plan, budget and delivery calendar, and set and track targets across MEL levels (inputs, outputs, results, outcomes, impact).
  • Ensure consistent, quality delivery across schools and lead the expansion strategy and transition to scale.
  • Line-manage the Education and Field Lab team, oversee the patron network, and manage part-time and contract staff.
  • Build a culture of learning, accountability and care, and develop age-appropriate, species- and issue-relevant conservation education modules.
  • Adhere to donor reporting schedules, lead grant applications and donor prospecting, and turn MEL data and field stories into donor communications.
  • Represent the programme at external events, conferences and partner meetings.
  • Champion a culture of evidence, oversee the MEL system with consultants, and produce quarterly progress and annual impact reports.

Required profile

  • At least 5 years' experience in programme or project management, preferably in education, conservation or a related field, with a track record of delivering programmes end to end.
  • Proven ability to manage relationships with donors, partners and stakeholders.
  • Experience managing small teams and remote or distributed networks.
  • Genuine passion for conservation and wildlife education, highly organised and calm under pressure.
  • Experience working with schools, teachers or youth programmes.

Required skills

  • Experience with MEL frameworks, logframes or theory of change.
  • Strong written communication, able to write donor reports and newsletters.
  • Comfortable reading dashboards and spotting patterns.
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace (Forms, Sheets, Looker Studio).

Applications are made by sending a CV quoting "Programme Manager" in the subject line to the recruiter before 30 October 2026; only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
