About the role
The Hilltops Council is seeking casual swim teachers for the 2026/27 swimming season across its leisure centres. This part‑time role offers the chance to share water‑safety knowledge and help community members of all ages develop confidence and skill in the pool.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver structured swimming lessons to participants ranging from beginners to advanced swimmers.
- Monitor safety and ensure a secure, inclusive environment at all times.
- Assess individual progress and provide constructive feedback to help learners meet their goals.
- Maintain equipment and pool area cleanliness according to council standards.
- Collaborate with other staff to promote pool programs and community engagement.
Required profile
- Qualified to teach swimming, holding a recognized swim instructor or lifeguard certification.
- Strong communication skills and a passion for community service.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

What we offer
- Hourly rate of $31.00 – $34.35 plus a 25 % casual loading.
- 12 % superannuation contribution.
