Chemical Engineer – Remote Chemistry Expert (Task‑Based, 11‑Week Contract)

About the role

We are looking for a highly qualified Chemistry Expert to work remotely on a short‑term, task‑based contract (11 weeks). The role involves solving advanced, postgraduate‑level chemistry problems and providing clear, visual explanations.

Key responsibilities

• Solve advanced chemistry problems, including organic reaction mechanisms, chemical equilibria, stoichiometry, thermodynamics, and electrochemistry.
• Create detailed textual and visual explanations using diagrams, chemical structures, and energy plots.
• Provide constructive feedback and annotations on chemistry‑related tasks.
• Contribute analytical reasoning to AI model fine‑tuning projects.
• Explain concepts in simple language, supplemented with visuals or simulations as needed.

Required profile

• Master’s or Ph.D. (or pursuing) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry or a related discipline.
• Strong research, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent written communication and ability to work independently in a remote setting.
• LinkedIn profile included in resume; background check required after onboarding.

Required skills

• Proficiency with at least three of the following tools: GROMACS, LAMMPS, Psi4, PySCF, xtb, crest, Multiwfn, Cantera, CoolProp, NWChem, PyBaMM, RDKit, Open Babel.

What we offer

• Compensation of $450 per approved task.
• 40 hours per week with a 4‑hour overlap with Pacific Standard Time.
• Fully remote work for the 11‑week contract period.
