About the role
The United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON) is the UN headquarters in Africa, supporting programmes of UNEP, UN‑Habitat and the Resident Coordination System. The Chief of Section, Information Systems and Telecommunications (P5) will lead the section that provides essential IT and telecom services to these UN entities.
Key responsibilities
- Report to the Director, Division of Administration (DAS) of UNON.
- Oversee the delivery of information systems and telecommunications services that enable the work of UN agencies based in Nairobi.
- Ensure that administrative, security, conference and information services meet UN standards and operational requirements.
Required profile
- Experience working in an international organization or large multi‑agency environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a section responsible for IT and telecommunications functions.
