Civil Engineer (Hydraulics) – Army Fellows Program

About the role

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is seeking recent civil engineering graduates for a two‑year Army Fellows Program focused on hydraulics. Fellows receive structured training, mentorship, and rotational assignments across civil works, military construction, environmental, and emergency management projects.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the study, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of flood‑risk reduction, navigation, and aquatic ecosystem restoration systems.
• Monitor project progress, resources, and compliance with engineering standards.
• Identify engineering problems and recommend corrective actions.
• Review technical design documents and submittals.
• Perform engineering calculations and technical studies using established principles.
• Support project managers and multidisciplinary teams during site visits, inspections, and construction oversight.
• Analyze engineering data and prepare recommendations for improvements.

Required profile

• Recent graduate with a degree in Civil Engineering.
• Strong motivation to develop a career in hydraulic and infrastructure engineering.
