Civil Engineer (Structural) – Army Fellows Program

About the role

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is seeking recent civil engineering graduates for a two‑year Army Fellows Program. As a Structural Civil Engineer Fellow you will rotate through design, construction, and project‑management assignments supporting critical national infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the design and construction of building structures using established criteria.
• Monitor project progress, resources, and compliance during design and construction phases.
• Identify and recommend corrective actions for building‑related issues.
• Review technical design documents, submittals, and perform engineering calculations.
• Support multidisciplinary teams in delivering complex infrastructure projects.
• Participate in site visits, inspections, and construction oversight activities.
• Analyze engineering data and prepare recommendations for improvements.
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards, environmental regulations, and safety requirements.

Required profile

• Recent graduate with a degree in Civil Engineering.
• Strong motivation to develop a career in structural engineering and public‑service projects.
• Ability to work collaboratively with federal, state, local, and industry partners.
• Willingness to rotate across multiple functional areas and locations.
