Class Actions & Mass Torts Associate

About the role

A leading Am Law 100 firm is seeking a 4th‑7th year associate to join its nationally recognised Litigation & Disputes practice, focusing on class actions and mass torts. The role provides meaningful responsibility across all stages of high‑exposure litigation, from case development to trial preparation.

Key responsibilities

• Defend complex class action and mass tort matters in state and federal courts.
• Handle pleadings, motion practice, and strategic case development.
• Conduct fact and expert discovery.
• Take and defend depositions of fact and expert witnesses.
• Support class certification strategy and briefing.
• Participate in trial preparation and serve on trial teams.
• Assist with appellate briefing and overall litigation strategy.
• Work directly with clients on case management and dispute‑resolution strategy.

Required profile

• 4th‑7th year associate with experience in complex litigation at a large law firm.
• Proven ability to take and defend fact and expert witness depositions.
• Experience supporting trial teams in state or federal jury trials.
• Federal Circuit Court clerkship and/or AUSA experience preferred.
• Excellent analytical, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Strong organisational and project‑management abilities.
• Collaborative, proactive, and client‑focused approach.
• Admitted to the relevant State Bar or eligible for prompt admission.
