Class Teacher – Early Years/KS1/KS2 (Fixed‑Term Maternity Cover)

About the role

Farmilo Primary School & Nursery is seeking a passionate Class Teacher to cover maternity leave from September 2026. The position can be for Early Years, KS1 or KS2, depending on the successful candidate's experience, offering a valuable opportunity to develop teaching practice within a supportive academy trust.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess engaging lessons for Early Years, KS1 or KS2 pupils.
• Implement effective behaviour management strategies to maintain a positive learning environment.
• Adapt learning activities to meet the individual needs of each child, ensuring inclusive practice.
• Contribute to the school’s CPD programmes and collaborate with colleagues across the Redhill Academy Trust.
• Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and communicate outcomes to parents and staff.

Required profile

• Strong passion for education and improving learner outcomes.
• Excellent knowledge of early reading, phonics and foundational skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage behaviour positively and foster a love of learning.
• Commitment to inclusive teaching and adapting lessons for diverse needs.
• Suitable for an early career teacher (ECT) or an experienced teacher seeking further development.
