Clinical Assistant Professor in Game Design

About the role

The GAME School at Arizona State University is hiring three full‑time Clinical Assistant Professors in Game Design. The position is based at the ASU California Center‑Grand building in Los Angeles and involves teaching, research, and service within the new Game Studio Production degree and related programs.

Key responsibilities

• Teach at least three courses per semester, delivered in‑person, online, or hybrid formats.
• Develop and update curriculum for Game Design, Game Development, and Game Studio Production.
• Advise student projects and mentor studio teams.
• Participate in departmental events, recruitment, and retention initiatives.
• Contribute to research and service activities aligned with the ASU Charter and Design Aspirations.

Required profile

• Ph.D. or equivalent professional experience in Game Design, Game Development, or related fields.
• Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate courses and supervise student work.
• Commitment to the mission of the Herberger Institute and to advancing inclusive, innovative education.
• Willingness to reside in or relocate to the Los Angeles area.
