Cloud Engineer – Azure & Databricks (Kenya)

About the role

We are seeking a Cloud Engineer to join a technical team in Kenya, focusing on supporting and scaling modern cloud‑based data environments. The role involves helping application teams onboard to Databricks and building reliable Data Landing Zones while working with Azure resources, infrastructure as code, and automation pipelines.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑level technical support via ServiceNow for Databricks and cloud‑related requests.
• Gather and analyze requirements to onboard new Data Landing Zones.
• Execute pipelines, scripts, and automated processes to provision and configure Azure and Databricks resources.
• Support deployment of Azure resources using Infrastructure as Code practices.
• Identify repetitive manual tasks and develop automation to improve efficiency.
• Collaborate with application, cloud, data, and cross‑functional teams to resolve issues.
• Create and maintain documentation for support procedures and configurations.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of cloud support operations and the Databricks environment.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of hands‑on experience with Databricks in a technical or operational setting.
• 1–3 years of experience with Azure Data Factory.
• Previous experience in application support, technical operations, or cloud support.
• Familiarity with major cloud platforms, especially Azure; exposure to AWS or GCP is a plus.
