Co-Teacher (Lower Primary)

About the role

The Lower Primary Co-Teacher supports classroom teaching and learning for learners in Grades 1 to 3, working collaboratively with the lead teacher to deliver the CBC curriculum, support learners' academic development and maintain a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment. The position is full time and based in Kiambu.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning and delivering CBC-based lessons for Lower Primary learners.
• Support the lead teacher in classroom management and learner supervision.
• Prepare teaching and learning materials appropriate for learners' needs.
• Assist in assessing, recording and monitoring learners' progress.
• Provide individual support to learners who need additional assistance.
• Maintain discipline and promote positive behaviour among learners.
• Participate in school activities, meetings and professional development sessions.
• Maintain effective communication and collaboration with colleagues and parents.
• Uphold child safeguarding standards and school policies.

Required profile

• Diploma or certificate in Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) or an equivalent recognised qualification.
• At least 2 years of teaching experience.
• Registered with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
• Valid Certificate of Good Conduct.
