Commercial & Conveyancing Advocate – Nairobi/Nakuru

About the role

Our client, a fast‑growing law firm with a strong national presence, is seeking a qualified Commercial & Conveyancing Advocate to join its Nairobi and Nakuru offices. The role involves delivering practical legal solutions across commercial, corporate, property and real‑estate matters while providing exceptional client service.

Key responsibilities

• Offer legal guidance on commercial, corporate, property and real‑estate transactions.
• Advise clients throughout acquisition, disposal, leasing and related property transactions.
• Prepare, review, negotiate and finalise sale agreements, lease agreements, commercial contracts, loan securities and conveyancing documents.
• Conduct legal due diligence on property and commercial deals to identify risks and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate with clients, financial institutions, land valuers, estate agents and government bodies.
• Oversee contract negotiations and the completion of transactional documentation.
• Facilitate registration of legal documents with the Land Registry, Survey of Kenya, National Lands Commission and relevant county offices.
• Prepare engagement letters, fee proposals and disbursement schedules.
• Monitor compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements governing commercial and property transactions.
• Maintain organised client files, transaction records and document management systems.

Required profile

• Upper second class LLB degree from a recognised university.
• Minimum two (2) years post‑admission experience in a busy law firm.
• Valid practising certificate.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Excellent legal drafting, analytical and research skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments effectively while meeting strict deadlines.
