Communications Intern – UN Nairobi Conference Facilities Project

About the role

The United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON) is seeking a Communications Intern for its Conference Facilities Project. This six‑month, unpaid internship is based in Nairobi and offers hands‑on experience supporting the project’s communication strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, shoot and edit high‑quality photos and videos to document project milestones.
• Update UNON websites and intranet with articles, stories, and project updates.
• Assist in developing and implementing the project’s social‑media strategy; act as focal point for social‑media accounts.
• Monitor and moderate comments on social platforms, guiding conversations as needed.
• Prepare brochures, presentations, and other marketing materials to attract voluntary and in‑kind contributions.
• Draft communication products such as press releases, newsletters, briefings, and video clips.
• Support organization of conferences, high‑level visits, press briefings, and meetings.
