Communications Manager

About the role

The Communications Manager will lead the operationalisation and delivery of Girls Not Brides’ communications strategy, turning organisational priorities into integrated, high‑impact communications approaches.

Key responsibilities

• Translate organisational strategy and audience needs into coordinated communications plans for publications, events and influencing moments.
• Oversee workflows, timelines and dependencies across the communications function to ensure high‑quality, strategically aligned delivery.
• Develop and maintain consistent messaging and narrative approaches, providing editorial and brand oversight for all outputs.
• Manage, support and develop line‑reports, fostering collaboration across editorial, digital, media and multimedia disciplines.
• Monitor and evaluate communications performance, using audience insights to improve future planning.

Required profile

• Significant professional experience in strategic communications, advocacy or public affairs within the not‑for‑profit sector or similar organisations.
• Proven track record of delivering integrated, multi‑channel communications campaigns that influence target audiences.
• Strong project management skills, with ability to coordinate complex projects, manage multiple priorities and mitigate risks.
• Experience leading and developing teams in remote‑working, cross‑cultural environments.
• Excellent editorial judgement and writing skills, with a commitment to the mission and values of Girls Not Brides.
