Consultant – Sustainable Animal & Aquatic Foods Exchange Coordination

About the role

The Sustainable Animal and Aquatic Foods (SAAF) Science Program seeks an experienced consultant to design, coordinate, and facilitate a South‑South exchange visit linking livestock and aquaculture stakeholders from Africa and Asia. The role involves creating a comprehensive program, managing participant selection, and ensuring smooth logistics for reciprocal trips.

Key responsibilities

• Develop a detailed concept, learning objectives, and implementation plan for the exchange.
• Design itineraries, identify host institutions, and select field sites.
• Define and apply criteria for participant nomination, supporting the identification of farmers, officials, and SAAF representatives.
• Coordinate travel, accommodation, local transport, and visa processes while ensuring safety and duty‑of‑care compliance.
• Facilitate meetings with government agencies, research institutes, and private‑sector partners.
• Document lessons learned, produce knowledge‑sharing outputs, and maintain visibility of the program.

Required profile

• Proven experience in program design and coordination for international development or agricultural projects.
• Strong understanding of livestock, aquaculture, and One Health concepts.
• Excellent stakeholder‑engagement skills with experience working across African and Asian contexts.
• Ability to manage logistics for multi‑country travel and field visits.
