Contract Management Specialist – Schenectady, NY

About the role

The Contract Management Specialist will support budgeting, negotiation, placement, administration, and close‑out of contracts in line with company policies, legal requirements, and government specifications. The role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to manage competing priorities, and effective teamwork with peers and management.

Key responsibilities

• Compile input and analyses for budgets, prime contract proposals, and post‑award financial assessments.
• Develop price, cost, small‑value, or hybrid estimates to support budgetary forecasts and acquisitions.
• Create acquisition strategies, conduct risk assessments, and obtain required government approvals.
• Prepare and issue RFPs for sole‑source or competitive solicitations, conduct proposal openings, and analyze supplier proposals.
• Negotiate purchase orders, resolve technical and administrative exceptions, and document fair‑price recommendations.
• Administer contracts post‑placement, including supplier communication, order amendments, invoice processing, and contract close‑out.
• Maintain relationships with suppliers and ensure continuous data reconciliation across budgeting and contract systems.
