Corporate Communications Manager

About the role

The Corporate Communications Manager will protect, build, and strategically advance DIB Kenya’s reputation, voice and public standing as the country’s leading Shariah‑compliant bank. The role designs and executes an integrated communications strategy covering media relations, regulatory engagement, internal communications, executive positioning, employer branding and crisis management.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a corporate communications strategy for media, internal audiences, regulators and corporate stakeholders.
• Produce and distribute press releases, corporate announcements, leadership statements and milestone communications in line with DIB Group standards.
• Maintain a bank‑wide communications calendar and oversee annual report sections and stakeholder presentations.
• Draft CEO speeches, Board presentations and high‑level stakeholder correspondence.
• Build and deepen relationships with key media across print, broadcast, online and trade publications in Kenya and East Africa.
• Manage media enquiries, press briefings and the bank’s spokesperson function.
• Monitor media coverage, produce regular reports and calculate earned media value.
• Design and manage internal communications programmes, newsletters, town‑hall materials and all‑staff updates.
• Support the CEO and Executive Committee with thought‑leadership initiatives, keynote speeches, op‑eds and media training.
• Develop and maintain a reputation management framework, crisis communications playbooks and stakeholder escalation pathways.
• Manage relationships with external stakeholders such as the Central Bank of Kenya, Kenya Bankers Association and Shariah advisory bodies.
• Lead employer branding initiatives to support recruitment, retention and cultural alignment.
