About the role
Amentum is seeking a Crane Operator / Rigger to support a U.S. Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role involves moving materials safely using cranes and rigging equipment while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Key responsibilities
- Move materials and mobile crane to various locations safely and appropriately.
- Perform inspections and operator‑level maintenance of cables, ropes, pulleys, winches, blocks, shackles, and sheaves.
- Configure rigging equipment according to load weight and size, and conduct lift calculations.
- Interact closely with the customer to coordinate material movements.
Required profile
- Minimum one year of experience as a crane rigger.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid passport (minimum one year) and ability to obtain required visas.
- Ability to pass contract medical requirements and maintain compliance.
Required skills
- Crane operation.
- Rigging and equipment configuration.
- Lift calculations.
- English reading, speaking, and comprehension.
