Credit Control Lead

About the role

Jacaranda Maternity is seeking an experienced, proactive, and results‑oriented Credit Control Lead to manage the hospital’s credit control and accounts receivable function. The role will ensure timely collection of revenue, maintain healthy cash flows, and oversee relationships with insurers and corporate clients.

Key responsibilities

• Lead debt collection and accounts receivable activities to ensure timely recovery of outstanding balances.
• Monitor debtor ageing, implement strategies to reduce overdue accounts and improve cash collections.
• Follow up with insurance companies, corporates, and individual patients on outstanding payments.
• Achieve collection targets and key performance indicators.
• Escalate long‑outstanding accounts and recommend appropriate recovery actions.
• Manage relationships with insurers, medical schemes, TPAs and corporate clients, coordinating invoice and claim submissions.
• Monitor claim rejections, under‑payments and disputes, ensuring prompt resolution.
• Conduct account reconciliations with payers and resolve discrepancies.
• Collaborate with Billing, Claims, Admissions, Clinical and Finance teams to ensure accurate charge capture and billing.
• Identify bottlenecks in the revenue cycle and implement corrective measures.
• Prepare and present debtor ageing, collection performance reports and cash‑flow forecasts.
• Analyse payment trends, identify collection risks and provide actionable recommendations.
• Supervise, coach and develop Credit Control Officers and Accounts Receivable staff.

Required profile

• Proven experience in credit control and accounts receivable.
• Experience managing relationships with insurers, medical schemes, TPAs and corporate clients.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team of Credit Control Officers and AR staff.
• Strong analytical skills to prepare reports, analyse payment trends and identify collection risks.
