Crop Sourcing Coordinator

About the role

Tupande, the Kenyan program of One Acre Fund, is seeking a Crop Sourcing Coordinator with about 2 years of experience to lead aggregation across its new crop portfolio. The coordinator leads a team of supervisors to drive volume, quality and market growth targets under the Farmers First agribusiness model.

Key responsibilities

• Work with the manager to maximise business results in the Crop Sourcing team.
• Carry out daily records reconciliation, update trackers and prepare reports for stakeholders.
• Recruit, train and manage Crop Sourcing supervisors and officers when needed.
• Develop and run strategies to meet or exceed volume, quality and enrollment goals.
• Conduct market research and analyse aggregation data to spot trends and adjust strategies.
• Collaborate with marketing on promotions and campaigns, and coach supervisors and officers to meet targets.
• Maintain relationships with brokers, government officials, vendors, competitors and other Tupande departments.
• Take part in target setting, forecasting and budgeting, and build zone and area-level aggregation plans with Zone Supervisors and Area Coordinators.
• Own the assigned crop or geography portfolio, moving across value chains by season.

Required profile

• Minimum 2+ years of aggregation or crop sourcing experience with a strong field track record.
• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in agribusiness, supply chain, social sciences or a related field.
• Customer-facing team management experience, preferably in a related industry.
• Leadership, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to motivate and coach a team.
• Willingness to travel frequently within the assigned area.
• Citizen or permanent resident of Kenya.

Required skills

• Proficiency in the Google Office Suite.
