Customer Service Intern

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Customer Service Intern to join our team. You will be the first point of contact for customers, respond to inquiries, and help ensure every interaction is professional and positive. This internship offers hands‑on experience in a busy customer service environment and an opportunity to develop communication and problem‑solving skills.

Key responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers by phone, email, and chat in a friendly and professional manner.
• Identify customer needs and direct inquiries to the appropriate team or department.
• Accurately record and update customer interactions in the CRM system after each engagement.
• Respond to basic customer inquiries and support tickets within agreed timelines.
• Escalate complex or unresolved issues to senior team members or relevant departments.
• Assist in monitoring customer account balances and sending payment reminders.
• Follow up with customers to confirm issue resolution and satisfaction.
• Prepare basic reports on customer interactions, issues, and resolutions.
• Guide customers through basic troubleshooting steps for common issues.
• Collaborate with the team to improve the overall customer experience.

Required profile

• A strong interest in customer service and helping others.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong problem‑solving attitude and ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with CRM systems and basic computer software (a plus).
• Previous experience in customer service or a related field is advantageous.
• Based in Nairobi or willing to relocate there; willingness to relocate to Malindi.
