Cyber Security Expert

About the role

Farsight Africa Technologies is seeking a Cyber Security Expert to lead cybersecurity planning, implementation, monitoring, and compliance for enterprise ICT and digital transformation projects. The role focuses on protecting systems, networks, applications, databases, and infrastructure against cyber threats while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement cybersecurity strategies, frameworks, and controls.
• Conduct risk assessments, vulnerability assessments, and coordinate penetration testing.
• Manage network security tools such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, and encryption technologies.
• Monitor systems for threats, support incident response, and oversee recovery processes.
• Ensure secure configuration and hardening of servers, applications, and databases.
• Develop and maintain cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures.
• Maintain compliance with data protection and regulatory requirements, including role‑based access control and identity management.
• Prepare assessment reports, track security KPIs, and support project governance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, IT, Network Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity operations and infrastructure security.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH or CompTIA Security+ are a plus.
