Cyber Security Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a highly motivated Cyber Security Specialist to protect our IT infrastructure, networks, systems and data in Nyeri, Kenya. The role combines security operations, network administration, incident response, risk management and IT support to ensure business continuity.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, analyze and respond to security alerts across networks, endpoints and cloud environments.
• Support SOC activities including threat detection, investigation, containment and remediation.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments, coordinate penetration testing and perform security audits.
• Implement and maintain endpoint protection, IDS/IPS, antivirus, firewalls and SIEM solutions.
• Investigate breaches and lead incident response efforts.
• Configure and secure network devices such as routers, switches, VPNs and wireless networks.
• Manage network access controls, user authentication and monitor network performance.
• Support cloud security on Azure, AWS or Google Cloud and implement data backup and disaster recovery procedures.
• Provide technical support, manage Active Directory, Microsoft 365 and email systems, and maintain IT documentation.
• Conduct risk assessments, develop security policies and deliver awareness training.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cyber Security or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in cybersecurity, network security or IT operations.
• Strong technical expertise and proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks.
