Data Migration Specialist – Core Banking System

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Data Migration Specialist to lead the migration of legacy banking data to a modern Core Banking System (CBS) such as Temenos T24, Finacle, or Oracle FLEXCUBE. The role involves end‑to‑end migration activities while ensuring data integrity, regulatory compliance, and minimal disruption during go‑live.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement the CBS data migration strategy, including cut‑over and rollback procedures.
• Develop detailed source‑to‑target data mapping documents and align legacy structures with CBS data models.
• Extract, cleanse, and transform data using ETL tools (Informatica PowerCenter, Talend, SSIS).
• Perform pre‑ and post‑migration validation, reconciliation, and produce audit reports.
• Execute mock migrations, support SIT and UAT, and resolve data defects.
• Lead the final production migration, monitor progress, and provide go‑live support.
• Maintain data governance, audit trails, and ensure compliance with banking regulations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in data migration for banking or financial systems.
• Strong knowledge of core banking platforms (Temenos T24, Finacle, Oracle FLEXCUBE).
• Hands‑on experience with ETL tools and SQL databases.
• Ability to work onsite in Nairobi and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
