Data Security Sales Manager

About the role

A leading Value-Added Distributor (VAD) serving African organisations, which helps them comply with data sovereignty laws such as NDPR and POPIA, is looking for a Data Security Sales Manager. The role leads the Data Security & Privacy business unit and acts as a strategic consultant to the Chief Data Officer and Privacy Officers, bridging legal compliance and technical enforcement.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high-level technical presentations and demos across the data lifecycle, from automated discovery and masking (Mage/Securiti.ai) to high-performance encryption (Fortanix/Keyfactor).
• Act as a trusted advisor to data leadership, turning complex regulatory requirements into technically sound security blueprints.
• Implement and demonstrate granular rights management and revocable access solutions (Seclore/FileOrbis) to support data sovereignty.
• Show how advanced data cataloging (OvalEdge) gives the visibility needed for a strong security posture.
• Meet and exceed revenue targets by identifying and qualifying high-value opportunities in the African enterprise market.

Required profile

• 5+ years of enterprise sales experience, including at least 3 years in data security, privacy or GRC.
• Proven ability to manage large enterprise accounts and lead complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles.
• Comfortable explaining how discovery, masking and encryption work in practice.
• Thrives in high-growth startup environments and can build a vertical from the ground up.
• Technical fluency valued over formal degrees; the ideal candidate speaks both database administrator and privacy officer languages.
