Decision Support Manager - Credit Risk

About the role

The Decision Support Manager - Credit Risk provides financial analysis and commercial decision support, reporting functionally to the Head of Credit Risk Management. The role oversees key credit management metrics, uses analytics and financial expertise to identify risks and drive actions that improve customer sustainability, working capital performance and cash collection, and supports strategic decisions on credit and reserve limits. It is a full-time position in Nairobi.

Key responsibilities

• Drive focus and oversight on credit management processes, their KPIs and opportunities
• Generate market insights through analytics and DBSI and work with key stakeholders to turn them into solutions
• Monitor and deliver strong working capital reporting in the balance sheet
• Support internal CARM checks and the external audit process
• Challenge ways of working to find improvements and train business partners on credit risk KPIs and deliverables
• Hold others to account, deliver in the absence of the HoCRM, and influence stakeholders across the business and shared services
• Ensure Credit/OTC CARM controls are implemented and sustained, and work with the OTC team to strengthen credit management processes and build distributor capabilities

Required profile

• Business-related degree or equivalent
• ACCA or CPA(K)
• 6-8 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong track record in analytic or finance roles
• Strong commercial, analytical and logical acumen
• Project management, prioritisation and deadline delivery
• Flexibility, accuracy, attention to detail and strong written and spoken communication

Required skills

• Significant financial knowledge
• Excellent Microsoft Excel and modelling skills
