Dental Hygienist

About the role

Amentum is seeking a qualified Dental Hygienist to support a unique U.S. Navy program on the island of Diego Garcia. The role focuses on delivering preventive dental care, maintaining accurate health records, and ensuring compliance with government and OSHA standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform dental hygiene procedures such as cleaning, scaling, and polishing.
• Conduct oral health assessments, screenings, and identify conditions like cavities, gingivitis, and periodontitis.
• Take and develop dental X‑rays in accordance with safety and quality standards.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and provide counseling.
• Collaborate with dentists to deliver comprehensive care and follow‑up recommendations.
• Collect and maintain detailed medical/dental records for all employees, ensuring they meet government inspection requirements.
• Maintain a clean, safe clinic environment following OSHA and infection‑control guidelines.
• Perform routine cleaning, sterilization, and organization of dental equipment and instruments.

Required profile

• Completion of an accredited Dental Hygienist program and licensure in the United States.
• 1–3 years of experience performing patient education, routine cleanings, and preventive care.
• Certification in radiology with proficiency in taking and developing dental X‑rays.
• Knowledge of infection‑control practices, sterilization protocols, and dental clinic operations.
