Deputy Headteacher – Leadership Role

About the role

Marell Academy is looking for a visionary and disciplined Deputy Headteacher to support the Headteacher in delivering high‑quality education and holistic learner development. This senior leadership role involves overseeing academic programmes, staff performance and school operations to ensure a safe and thriving learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Headteacher in overall management and administration of the school.
• Provide academic leadership and ensure effective implementation of the CBC/CBE curriculum.
• Supervise teaching staff and monitor curriculum delivery.
• Coordinate learner discipline, guidance and counselling programmes.
• Ensure proper lesson planning, assessment and record keeping.
• Promote co‑curricular activities and learner talent development.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety and organisation within the school.
• Support effective communication between the school, parents and other stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Education degree from a recognised institution.
• Registration with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
• Minimum of 5 years teaching experience, preferably in a CBC/CBE environment.
• Experience in school administration or a leadership position is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of CBC/CBE curriculum implementation and assessment.
• Excellent communication, leadership and organisational abilities.
• Professionalism, integrity and ability to work with minimal supervision.
