Digital Solutions Engineer – AI-First Developer

About the role

A global market leader in the flower and plant industry, represented by Summit Recruitment & Search, is looking for an AI-savvy Digital Solutions Engineer based in Nairobi and reporting to the General Manager. The role suits an AI-first developer who uses modern AI coding tools to build high-quality solutions efficiently, combining software development skills with business analytics expertise in Power BI, Microsoft Fabric and related technologies. The position has a global mandate, leading digital initiatives and scaling the company's Intelligence platform internationally.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development, maintenance and continuous improvement of digital platforms, including scaling the Intelligence platform globally and modernising Blue Box.
• Use AI-assisted development tools to speed delivery, while keeping code reviewed, tested, secure and production-ready.
• Maintain engineering standards through clean documentation, structured Git workflows, code reviews and CI/CD best practices.
• Translate business requirements from management, consultants and customers into scalable, user-focused digital solutions.
• Build and improve business intelligence dashboards, analytics and customer-facing reporting tools with Power BI, Microsoft Fabric and related technologies.
• Manage global digital transformation projects and drive adoption of applications across international teams and markets.
• Partner with leadership and sales teams to demonstrate, train and promote digital products to customers.
• Drive process automation, data integrity and application security by digitising workflows, managing integrations and enforcing secure access and data governance.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in computer engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
• Experience driving digital transformation initiatives, including application deployment, systems integration, process automation and multi-market projects.
• Strong business analysis, research and problem-solving skills, and excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
