Disaster Risk Reduction & Early Warning Officer (Data Analysis)

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Disaster Risk Reduction and Early Warning Officer focused on data analysis and information management. The role supports the design and delivery of data‑driven initiatives that identify multi‑hazard displacement risks, strengthen resilience, and inform early warning systems across the East, Horn, and Southern Africa region.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement data‑driven projects to assess multi‑hazard displacement risks.
• Strengthen regional resilience by providing evidence for early warning and anticipatory action.
• Collaborate with the Humanitarian Response and Recovery, Climate Action units, and the Climate Mobility Innovation Lab.
• Contribute to programmatic approaches that translate data evidence into concrete disaster risk reduction and preparedness interventions.
• Support the Regional Data Hub in delivering actionable insights for evidence‑based decision‑making.

Required profile

• Open to first‑tier (internal and non‑represented IOM Member State) and second‑tier candidates.
• Particularly encourages qualified female applicants.
• Relevant experience in disaster risk reduction, climate change, migration, or humanitarian data analysis.
