About the role
The STRIDES project in Nairobi, Kenya is seeking a Driver I to provide reliable transportation and messenger services for project staff, visitors, and supplies. The role supports the project’s mission to strengthen infectious disease detection and surveillance across Kenya.
Key responsibilities
- Transport project staff, visitors, and equipment to meetings, appointments, and field sites safely and courteously.
- Pick up and deliver project supplies as directed.
- Maintain the assigned vehicle in clean, serviceable condition, including daily safety checks, fluid level monitoring, tire inspection, and minor preventive maintenance.
- Report any vehicle discrepancies or maintenance issues to the supervisor promptly.
Required profile
- Based in Nairobi County and able to travel to other counties where the project operates.
- Demonstrates caution, courtesy, and professionalism while driving.
- Capable of performing basic vehicle upkeep and safety inspections.
Required skills
- Vehicle operation.
- Basic vehicle maintenance and safety checks.
