Driver I – Project Support for STRIDES in Nairobi

About the role

The STRIDES project in Nairobi, Kenya is seeking a Driver I to provide reliable transportation and messenger services for project staff, visitors, and supplies. The role supports the project’s mission to strengthen infectious disease detection and surveillance across Kenya.

Key responsibilities

• Transport project staff, visitors, and equipment to meetings, appointments, and field sites safely and courteously.
• Pick up and deliver project supplies as directed.
• Maintain the assigned vehicle in clean, serviceable condition, including daily safety checks, fluid level monitoring, tire inspection, and minor preventive maintenance.
• Report any vehicle discrepancies or maintenance issues to the supervisor promptly.

Required profile

• Based in Nairobi County and able to travel to other counties where the project operates.
• Demonstrates caution, courtesy, and professionalism while driving.
• Capable of performing basic vehicle upkeep and safety inspections.
