About the role
The Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in Nairobi is seeking a reliable driver to support the safe transport of staff and official documents. The role involves daily vehicle operation, routine maintenance, and assistance with administrative tasks related to logistics.
Key responsibilities
- Drive vehicles safely to transport authorized personnel and official cargo.
- Collect and deliver mail, documents, and other items as required.
- Meet staff at the airport and assist with immigration and customs formalities.
- Perform day‑to‑day vehicle maintenance, including checks of oil, water, battery, brakes, and tires, and arrange for repairs.
- Maintain logs of trips, mileage, fuel consumption, and maintenance activities.
- Follow procedures in case of accidents and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Support data collection, analysis, and preparation of reports or presentations as needed.
- Assist with updating informational materials such as web pages or brochures.
- Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Required profile
- Professional knowledge of driving rules, road conditions, and safety protocols.
- Strong judgment and ability to work under pressure.
- Commitment to punctuality, reliability, and confidentiality.
Required skills
- Valid driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle class.
- Basic vehicle maintenance skills (oil checks, tire pressure, minor repairs).
