EKG and Phlebotomy Instructor (Part-time)

About the role

Hudson County Community College seeks a part‑time instructor to teach adult, non‑credit Patient Care Technician students. The role involves delivering an approved curriculum in EKG and phlebotomy using hands‑on techniques.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures and practical sessions on EKG and phlebotomy.
• Plan, prepare, and present the approved curriculum daily.
• Organize instructional materials, supplies, tools, and equipment; report shortages promptly.
• Maintain a clean classroom environment after each session.
• Track and report student grades and attendance electronically.
• Motivate, advise, and provide feedback to students on academic performance and attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree.
• National certification in EKG, Phlebotomy, and Patient Care Technician (NHA).
• 3–5 years of hands‑on experience in the field and teaching experience.
• CPR/BLS Instructor certification.
• Proficiency with computers for grade and attendance entry.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work with a diverse staff and student population and multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
