Electrical Engineer – UNON Conference Facilities Project

About the role

The United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON) is seeking an Electrical Engineer for the Conference Facilities Project. Reporting to the Chief of the Design and Construction Section, the engineer will support planning, design, construction and maintenance of major electrical systems for UN facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and advise on planning, design, construction and maintenance of power substations, low/high voltage distribution networks, lighting, low‑current systems and building management systems (BMS).
• Evaluate project documents, design specifications and cost estimates for accuracy and feasibility.
• Review and submit technical design drawings, specifications, owner’s reports, invoices and cost breakdowns for approval.
• Approve weekly and monthly reports from design consultants and contractors.
• Recommend solutions to unusual engineering problems and lead technical studies.
• Stay updated on engineering trends and emerging equipment.
