Electrical Technician – Motor Rewinding

About the role

The Electrical Technician – Motor Rewinding is responsible for inspecting, disassembling, repairing, rewinding, testing and reassembling electric motors and related equipment within an industrial workshop setting.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, dismantle and assess electric motors and associated equipment for repair.
• Rewind AC and DC motors according to technical specifications and industry standards.
• Clean, repair, replace and reassemble motor components as required.
• Carry out routine, preventive and corrective electrical maintenance.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical faults.
• Perform electrical testing and evaluate motor performance before and after repairs.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams and technical manuals.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections and maintenance activities.
• Collaborate with supervisors and team members to plan and execute repair work efficiently.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Diploma or Certificate in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Installation or a related technical field.
• Minimum 4‑5 years proven experience in electrical motor rewinding and repair.
• Strong knowledge of electrical maintenance, electric motors, control panels and associated equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams and equipment manuals.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and compliance standards.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
