English Teacher

About the role

The English Teacher will deliver the SABIS curriculum, fostering academic achievement and personal growth for students. Using the SABIS teaching methodology, the teacher creates an engaging classroom environment that supports all learners.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lessons using provided plans or develop plans based on pacing charts.
• Mark exams and assessments according to departmental schedules.
• Discuss disciplinary and performance issues with the Academic Quality Controller and Head of Department.
• Implement the SABIS point system to maintain a conducive learning environment.
• Invigilate examinations and ensure proper exam conditions.
• Provide additional support to low‑performing students to improve motivation and results.
• Prepare students for external exams by reviewing past papers and following revision schedules.
• Perform auxiliary duties such as testing, substitute teaching, organizing lunches and transport, traffic control, and other administrative tasks.
• Participate in student‑life activities, including art, open house, and physical education events.
• Attend training sessions to deepen understanding of the SABIS system.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject or equivalent.
• Fluent English proficiency (native speaker preferred).
• PGCE certification or MA in Education is mandatory.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office applications.
