Entry-Level Accountant

About the role

Savannah Informatics, a Kenyan e-health software company founded by clinicians and finance specialists, is looking for a detail-oriented, proactive entry-level accountant to join its Finance team in Nairobi. The role supports the day-to-day running of the finance function, working with the Finance and Commercial teams, and takes ownership of assigned tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Record and post daily financial transactions accurately and on time, keeping records supported by documentation and carrying out routine reconciliations
• Support management accounts and financial statements, and assist with transactions between related companies
• Manage accounts payable, process payments, help with cash flow planning and budget tracking, and liaise with vendors
• Support payroll, statutory filings (PAYE, SHIF, NSSF, VAT, HELB, WHT) and eTIMS/iTax reconciliations
• Perform bank, intercompany, accounts payable/receivable and sales and tax reconciliations
• Work with the Commercial team on customer balances, invoicing and collections
• Support internal and external audits, grant-related finance and record keeping, and maintain the asset register

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Commerce (Finance) or a related field
• CPA finalist is mandatory; ACCA (CPA K) is an added advantage
• Experience in audit is mandatory
• Previous experience needed

• Proficiency in computer skills and knowledge of QuickBooks
• Numerical and analytical skills, excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and with attention to detail
