Evaluation Consultant – UNEP Terminal Evaluation

About the role

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) seeks an experienced Evaluation Consultant to lead the terminal evaluation of its project “Implementing the Global Strategy for Sustainable Consumption and Production – EC 10YFP Phase III and Phase II”. The assignment is based in Nairobi and will span 64 days within a nine‑month period.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare an Inception Report (30% of total deliverables) outlining methodology and work plan.
• Develop a Draft Report (40%) that includes two performance rating tables and annexes.
• Deliver a Final Evaluation Report (30%) incorporating feedback and final recommendations.
• Coordinate with UNEP’s evaluation team and ensure compliance with UN evaluation standards.
• Maintain the agreed timeline and quality standards throughout the assignment.

Required profile

• Advanced degree (Master’s or higher) in environmental studies, public policy, evaluation, or a related field.
• Proven experience conducting terminal evaluations for UN or similar international development projects.
• Familiarity with sustainable consumption and production frameworks.
• Ability to work independently in Nairobi and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
