Event Executive

About the role

We are looking for an Event Executive to support Marriott Hotels & Resorts in Nairobi. The role involves coordinating events, assisting guests and sales teams, and ensuring smooth execution of marketing and sales activities.

Key responsibilities

• Update information boards regularly to keep employees informed about important events.
• Assist employees with job duties, such as improving package sales numbers, and assign lead calls or emails to Sales Executives.
• Create and maintain spreadsheets for sales and marketing activities, including mailing lists and tour schedules.
• Enter, retrieve, reconcile, and verify sales‑process information in relevant software systems.
• Respond to guest calls, requests, or problems by contacting the appropriate department and promote Marriott’s brand internally and externally.
• Use sales techniques to maximize revenue, up‑sell services, and encourage guests to purchase preview packages or tours.

Required profile

• Certificate or Diploma in event management, food and beverage, sales and marketing, or a related field.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience, preferably in a 5‑star hotel or luxury service environment.
