Evidence-Based Outbreak Monitoring and Response Consultant (Immunization)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a consultant to support the Accelerated Disease Control team within its Immunization programme. The role focuses on strengthening real‑time monitoring, outbreak intelligence and evidence‑based decision‑making for vaccine‑preventable diseases affecting children and caregivers.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor programme implementation and identify performance bottlenecks.
• Collect, analyse and disseminate outbreak monitoring and intelligence data.
• Support outbreak prevention, preparedness and rapid response activities.
• Coordinate partnerships with UN agencies, ministries and other stakeholders.
• Generate and translate evidence to inform policy and programme adjustments.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Public Health, Health Sciences, Social Sciences or a related field.
• 8–10 years of professional experience in immunisation programme management, outbreak preparedness and response, or pandemic preparedness.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of another UN language is an asset.

Required skills

• Strong analytical and data‑systems experience.
• In‑depth knowledge of immunisation and vaccine‑preventable diseases.
• Excellent writing and communication abilities.
