Expeditor

About the role

The Expeditor will plan, execute and coordinate transportation activities for DHL Kenya, ensuring timely and cost‑effective movement of goods while maintaining regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Build optimal routes for the dedicated fleet and manage the customer database.
• Identify and resolve transportation issues such as delays, route changes or unforeseen challenges.
• Coordinate with drivers, carriers and logistics partners to execute transport plans accurately.
• Monitor KPIs related to efficiency, on‑time delivery and cost, and analyse performance data for improvements.
• Negotiate contracts, maintain relationships with carriers and vendors, and ensure compliance with safety and documentation standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in transportation operations with a focus on execution and coordination.
• Strong organisational, communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Knowledge of transportation regulations, safety standards and compliance requirements.

Required skills

• Familiarity with Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
• Experience using route optimisation tools.
• Ability to handle large transport networks in near real‑time.
