Field Supervisor

About the role

The Field Supervisor will lead and coordinate field data collection teams across multiple counties in Kenya, ensuring that research and monitoring & evaluation (M&E) projects are executed with high quality, ethical standards, and on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and supervise field data collection activities.
• Train, mentor and quality‑assure a team of Field Officers and enumerators.
• Conduct spot checks, back‑checks and field validation of collected data.
• Liaise with community gatekeepers and county officials to secure fieldwork access.
• Submit daily progress reports and resolve field‑level challenges.
• Ensure compliance with data protection and research ethics protocols.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Statistics, Development Studies or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience supervising field research or M&E data collection in Kenya.
• Strong leadership and communication skills in English and Kiswahili.
• Willingness to travel extensively across counties; a valid driving licence is an advantage.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with mobile data collection tools such as ODK, KoboToolbox and SurveyCTO.
