Finance & Accounts Associate

About the role

The Finance & Accounts Associate will support PataGig’s day‑to‑day financial operations in a fully remote, full‑time capacity. You will ensure accurate record‑keeping, help monitor cash flow, and assist with month‑end and year‑end closing activities while collaborating with internal teams and external partners.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain general ledgers and process invoices and payments.
• Perform bank reconciliations and support cash‑flow monitoring.
• Assist with budget tracking, financial reporting, and month‑end/year‑end closing.
• Resolve billing or account discrepancies in partnership with other departments.
• Respond to finance‑related inquiries from partners and platform users.
• Help improve financial processes and ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.

Required profile

• Strong analytical abilities for financial reporting and data‑driven decisions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for internal and external collaboration.
• Customer‑service mindset to handle inquiries and maintain positive relationships.
• Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks remotely.
• A diploma or degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field; CPA or ACCA is a plus.
• Experience in marketplace, fintech or platform‑based businesses in Kenya is beneficial.

Required skills

• Proficiency with basic accounting principles.
• Experience using accounting or ERP software.
