Finance and Administration Assistant

About the role

Kenlife, Kenya's first garden restaurant, is seeking a Finance and Administration Assistant to support its finance, human resources, and administrative functions. Reporting to the Manager, the role combines financial reporting, asset safeguarding, and compliance duties within a dynamic hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and post financial records in the company ERP system, including petty cash, bank vouchers, general journals, accruals and pre‑payments.
• Generate daily, weekly, monthly and ad‑hoc financial reports such as income‑expenditure statements, balance sheets, cash‑flow analyses and board reports.
• Maintain accurate supporting documentation for all transactions and ensure proper filing of invoices, receipts and payment vouchers.
• Safeguard company assets by producing periodic reports on banks, petty cash, fixed assets and other holdings.
• Analyse business trends, costs and revenues to forecast future financial performance and provide advisory input.
• Assist with tax compliance and regulatory reporting to bodies such as KRA and the Central Bank of Kenya.
• Process supplier payments promptly and manage client invoicing and follow‑up on receivables.

Required profile

• Resident of Kenya with a relevant qualification in finance, accounting or administration.
• Proven experience in financial statement preparation and ERP system usage.
• Strong understanding of Kenyan tax regulations and banking procedures.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently while leading a small team.
