Finance Controller – Hotel Operations

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Finance Controller to lead the financial operations of our hotel in Mombasa. The role involves overseeing all aspects of finance, from reporting and budgeting to compliance and cost control, ensuring the hotel runs efficiently and profitably.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee complete hotel financial operations, including daily accounting activities.
• Prepare monthly Management Information System (MIS) reports, profit & loss statements, and other financial reports.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cost‑control initiatives.
• Monitor cash flow, expense tracking, and revenue performance.
• Ensure compliance with Kenyan tax and statutory requirements.
• Handle audits, reconciliations, and internal control procedures.
• Supervise the accounts team and coordinate vendor payments, payroll, and banking transactions.
• Collaborate with senior management for financial planning and strategic decision‑making.

Required profile

• 5–10+ years of experience in finance or accounting, preferably within the hotel or hospitality industry.
• Strong knowledge of MIS, budgeting, and financial reporting.
• Familiarity with Kenyan tax regulations and compliance requirements.
• Excellent command of English; Swahili is an advantage.
• Proven leadership and team‑management abilities.
