Finance Management Trainee – General Finance

About the role

The Aga Khan University in Nairobi is launching a twelve‑month Finance Management Trainee program within its General Finance department. This fast‑track placement offers recent graduates hands‑on experience in core finance operations while contributing to institution‑wide fixed assets verification and stock count activities.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct 100% verification of the university’s fixed assets in coordination with the finance team.
• Support institution‑wide stock count exercises, including physical verification and reconciliation of stock records.
• Perform reconciliations of assigned financial accounts and records.
• Analyze general‑ledger variances and investigate discrepancies.
• Prepare finance reports as assigned by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• No prior work experience required; exposure through coursework, internships, or projects is an advantage.
• Up to one year of relevant experience through internships, freelance work, volunteer activities, or academic projects.
• Residency in Kenya or permission to work in Kenya.
