Finance Manager – Eastern Africa

About the role

MSF Eastern Africa is seeking a Finance Manager to lead financial and legal management across the region. The role ensures compliance with MSF standards, accurate reporting to the International Office, and supports hosted sections with budgeting and financial guidance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and reconcile international financial statements, manage monthly balances, and lead the annual closure and reporting to the International Office.
• Coordinate finance hosting for regional sections, authorise advances, per diems and procurements, and produce monthly hosting reports.
• Oversee monthly and annual accounting closures, cash counts, VAT receivables, depreciation, and monitor receivables and write‑offs.
• Validate invoices, purchase orders and payroll, submit compliance reports, and maintain asset tracing in collaboration with facilities.
• Support budgeting processes, improve budgeting tools, and provide guidance to department heads for forecasts and allocations.
• Participate in management team meetings, act as bank signatory for regional accounts, and integrate equity, diversity and safeguarding principles into finance operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or equivalent.
• Minimum five years of financial management experience, preferably in the non‑profit or international sector.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of French or a third language is an advantage.
• Proven leadership, high ethical standards and commitment to MSF’s humanitarian principles.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong skills in Microsoft PowerPoint.
• Experience with MS Dynamics finance modules.
